also a simple thing to do: when you make your post box, hit the move tool (v), then check the ‘show transform controls’ box on the top bar. afterwards, click on the edges of the box and, on the top bar, you should have something like this:

(you can change the width and height to pixels instead of percentages if it makes it easier to size it)
with it like this, select the top left square on those nine thingies next to the X (if you’re measuring your theme by the top left that is – i might go into detail if anyone wants me to put up a proper tutorial) and check the X and Y values for that corner. that’s the horizontal (x) and vertical (y) align of your box. to make your post box align with your background (or vice versa, but it’s easier to move the posts than it is to move the background) just change the values on the css to the X and Y values given by photoshop.
